I will use this on my Nvidia TNT2 32Mb and it better not screw me but I'll run some test and see how it improves performance on my Athlon 550 with 128 SDDRAM and 17Gb HDD. I'll post results later. Thanks for all the great stuff on this site!

I have a ASUS V6800 Delux... it's a good card but in all games so far every time I turn the walls or whatever tear really bad... other than that it's well worth it :)

I also got the Gforce 256 and I can't say it's great. Most graphics are completely ****ed, my 2 voodoo2 cards worked better.

I didn't eaven test it. Why should i? I already can get over 60fps in Quake3 with highest possible details and 32bit colors in 1024x768 :) Btw. Detonator3 drivers really kick ***!!

Prof: If im not wrong Euro 2k was originally designed to glide and then ported to D3D. So if you wan't to get nice fps you should atleast try Det3 drivers. Do you have chipset AGP drivers installed? Of not, get them and install. Or simply buy a faster CPU ;)

Have got a Pentium 90 and 16 meg ram. Got a 1.2gig hd and a 2meg video card. I can't get the Detonator 3 drivers to work with my card. Other than that my machine rox and wolfenstein runs sweeeet.

To respond to mike coffer. if the processer is an intel then don't go for it. if it is an athlon then by all means take it.

Clarence: You probably do not have an NVIDIA video card. I am positive of that. Do NOT try to even use the Detonator 3 drivers. It will not work ever. Buy a newer video card, buy a new system also. Upgrading the motherboard is not a bad option either. It will lead to other upgrades though. You will have AGP capability, a good PCI bus, newer RAM to choose from that is faster.Good Luck

Faster, A LOT less expensive and more reliable.... How many chips did it take Intel to get to the coppermine? All of the predisesors are still on the market causing problems. Nothing but awards for the Athlon.

Afgan, the dll the game cannot find is for a 3DFX-card so it looks like you have to change the display setting in the game (don't know if this is possible) to D3D instead of 3DFX/Voodoo.

I really find it humorous how some of you ppl diss the pentiums just because you can't afford them. And then you say that Athlons are better, just because you have them. That's like thinking that just because you have a '91 taurus it's better than a brand new 2000 Jaguar. And not only is it "better" it's cheaper too! I wonder why? companies don't charge higher prices the shittier the product, otherwise AMD's would cost $12,000 each. There is a reason P3's cost more,and that is because they are much better. (starting to make sense now?) A test of a 1 ghz Athlon vs. a 1 ghz Pentium III would be embarrassing. The Pentium III would slaughter the Athlon. (duh) I dont know if you Athlon users have ever heard of benchmarking (you might wanna look that one up) or if you're too afraid to see your own results, but my 800 mhz P3(not overclocked-even though it could be, because Pentium III's have a decent cooling system. More than i can say for Athlons...) can slaughter even 1 ghz 'Thunderbirds', AMD's fastest new Athlon. My 3dmark2000 ([url removed] score was well over 7500, using the standard test. The highest thunderbird score i found was 7200. I beat it , even though it's speed was supposed to be 200 Mhz faster. Sure tells you something there...

Hey joey, Not true, the AMD 1 gig chip vs. the PIII 1 gig chip don't even compare. The benchmark test for the two arn't even close, or did you not even see them. The Athlon kicked its ***. I have both and the AMD chip out performs it by far and saved me $700. I used to be gnuine to intel but every time they make a large advance they end up recalling it. AMD does it right the first time.
