Lawbreakers might have a fancy sci-fi setting, with adjusted gravity and a destroyed moon, but it is at its heart a 5v5 arena shooter, with various characters of differing classes which makes it look and feel quite a lot like some of the other multiplayer arena battlers that are coming out in the next six months or so.
But hey, don't take our word for it, check out the official reveal trailer and the 20+ minutes of gameplay taken from PAX demonstrations and live demos.
As cool as the ability to shoot behind you is - good luck hitting anything - and some of the movement mechanics, there isn't a whole lot on show here that we haven't seen before.
Ok, I will give it to Cliff Blzezinski's Boss Key Productions, giving the Titan character the ability to shoot the floor to gain a jump boost, is a really nice nod to Unreal Tournament's shield gun jump.
Though the announcer doesn't have anywhere near enough of a gravelly voice.
Is there anything in this new game that really stood out for you? I'm sure it's fun, but it just doesn't seem that new.
