Alienware represents the first system manufacturer to offer the dual-GPU technology of nVidia SLI. Alienware Area-51 ALX systems featuring SLI, utilize dual nVidia-based graphics cards that work together to draw a single image, providing an increase in graphics performance of up to 100 per cent. The dual-GPU configuration also takes advantage of the increased bandwidth provided by leading-edge PCI Express bus architecture when communicating between GPUs and processors. As a result, the Area-51 ALX delivers drastically enhanced imaging capabilities at even the highest resolutions, and revolutionizes performance in the latest graphics-rich game titles.

The Area-51 ALX with SLI technology features Alienware's exclusive X2 motherboard, which enables dual high-performance PCI Express graphics cards and high-performance Intel Xeon processors with 1MB cache.
