fyi Wyness the prequel to this game (X: Beyond the frontier) was out long before freelancer so freelancer kinda ripped off X, but they all ripped off elite anyway :p

If you want straight space battles, I say Freespace 2 is one of the best.

stupid kids, Freelancer came after x1, there is X1 and x2. Freelancer is microsofts filthy answer for x1,2. Then again, freelancer is more static play.

Oh God YES!! Freespace 2 is the best space sim to date, if you ask me! The graphics are quite good considering it's over 2 years old, with a great story line and some of the best voice acting, not to mention best endings I've ever had the pleasure to see! A real work of art that I would recommend to anyone that wants to play a quality space sim. Gotta have a flight stick, though. Enjoy!

Yeah freespace is wicked, but i was a little let down by the end level, however freespace(the first one) is a classic game, and the end 'boss'/level is one of the best. I dont think there are any other space games that can beat any of the freespace ones!

this is EVE offline lol, looks good controls SUX, they should play Freelancer and make controlls like that, views sux as well good ship and you can't even see it good. i really hoped they drop those "pure" sim controls and rulles that wore in first game :(

Does this game not sound a bit similar to HArdwar. I only say this due to the fact that I have hardwar and it is (in my opinion) a good game. where you could play as a miner, trader or mercenary.I would like to hear other peoples thoughts on this.

Tachyon the fringe is one of the best space areana combat sims ever made...however novalogics nonexistant support and upgrades put it in the hands of modders too bad...worth the 9.95 it costs now tho...it has in my and about 500 other peoples opinion the best control interface of any space sim... Storm Lord Ghost of the Iconian Knights out...
