The Two Towers is the sequel to the Academy Award winning "Fellowship of the Ring" and the second part of Peter Jacksons trilogy of the Lord of the Rings saga.

The two towers follows the continuing quest of Frodo Baggins and the Fellowship that has joined together to the one Ring and stand against the evil of the dark lord Sauron.
The Fellowship has divided and now find themselves taking different paths to defeating Sauron and his allies. Their destinies now lie at two towers - Orthanc Tower at Isengard, where the corrupted wizard Saruman waits and Sauron's fortress at Barad-dur, deep within the dark lands of Mordor.
Two Towers is scheduled for a December 18th, 2002 release.

The trailer is not an official one but looks like it is a cam version i.e. recorded using a camera in a movie theater. This means that the video and audio quality are not very good. Still you will get a glimpse of what the movie is about.

Lord of the Rings:The Two Towers Trailer

your right on Tolkien being in need of more credit but as far as books obsolete you may want to consider the fact that most movies dont go anywhere unless they originally come from a book so actually books are not completely obsolete. They are the chicken that lays the egg which hatches into a good movie. Sure its a silly metephor but it fits.
