Star Filled Studios, the new San Francisco based startup found by two ex-Diablo III developers has been acquired by Valve.
The studio was cofound in September 2012 by Tod Semple and Jeff Gates. Both developers worked at Blizzard North while developing Diablo III then moved on to PopCap to work on Plants vs. Zombies before deciding to start their own studio. Before Diablo III, Semble worked on Star Wars: The Force Unleashed at LucasArts while Gates worked on Spore at Maxis.
Valve cofounder, Gabe Newell, confirmed that "The guys who did PvZ, down in the Bay Area, we're helping them set up a Valve subsidiary there." However, he refused to give any hints regarding the studio’s current projects.
