Try the Gamespot download from the official site links; you have to install a manager (specifically for Gamespot) but it actually works. Every other location kept disconnecting.

I finally got the game! well here is wht i have to say. I have been trying to finish the 1st traning mission (Basic Rifleman Traning) sine 2 hours now but i still keep failling. Reason? U must probally be thinking i suk, dont u? Well the fact is i have been playing CS for well-over 2 1/2 yes now & started playing FPS with the release of Half-Life. I am pretty good @ FPS games (my average score in SOF 2 MP 'Shop Map' is 15/7. The prob which makes me suk @ AA:R is - > the graphix! Dont not dwd this if u have HardWare similiar to that of mine. My Computer has the following specs > Pentium III 600 Mhz; 192 MB SD RAM; Audigy DE Sound Card & guess wht my graphix card is? CREATIVE RIVA TNT 2. If u have a card similiar to the power of my card stay putt from this game cause it will gave u *5-6 FRAMES PER SECOND*. All games released so far have worked well on my PC @ the lowest graphix settings. This is the 1st game to not work (works but @ 5-6 FPS) even @ the lowest graphix setting. I really wish they realease a Tweaking Pack or something to remove Special FX like Smoke, Fire FX coming out of the chamber after firing. There r a lot of ppl out there i belive like me who still have crappy comps :)

Dude, the reason the game plays like shit is because you're using a creative video card with a riva tnt2 chipset, those aren't supported very well in newer games at all, plus the face that you have have 192MB of SDRAM. SDRAM isn't going to be optimized as much in games anymore (at least old SDRAM) since they're gonna stick with the newer types of RAM, and because it's the new generation Unreal Engine for 2003, it's prolly gonna run a lil' choppy even on some faster computers. But i asure all you higher-end gamers out there, i have an Athlon 1.4Ghz running on an MSI onboard RAID motherboard with 768 MB of PC2100 DDRRAM and a GeForce 3 VisionTec viedo card on Windows XP Pro, and the game gets about 99+ FPS even in some rough spots. The game runs damn good for a freeby.. just try to enjoy the game itself instead of it's graphics (which are actually damn good in this case).Oh, and being not only an American but a resident of Texas, i fully agree with Steve on this matter.And a very happy 4th of July from me as well. The Game is good but the Wouldent you know it the US ARMY servers underestematted there server copasity. Sounds like every thing esle they do.

This game is NOT the full version - it even says so on the main site. I can't beleive no one pointed it out yet. To whoever it was that was having problems with the game, it's time for an upgrade bud. My comp gets incredible framerate with everything turned up/on (not much to turn off/on anyhow).I'm running an Athlon XP 2100+ with a 128 DDR Radeon 8500 (not LE) on 256 DDR. The game is incredible. The full game will blow the demo away. Have fun.

Yeah, the 'RECON' part of the title means it's a demo, but in August when they drop the word recon, It'll be a free full version, Ghost Recon like game. I imagine it'll steal all the freeware sites highest ratings pretty quick =)

this game is made to promote the US army to american teenagers who just might join the army. Its a part of the goarmy advertising campaign really, its not propoganda trying to brainwash you its advertising. thats why it is free, so u will play it. Would u pay to watch a commercial?

Ha!! Mr R thinks that I paid $600 for my Geforce 4 Ti4600. I paid $150 for mine in an online auction. I say that if people have enough money to get a good computer at full price then good for them. Mr R you shouldn't be pissed at those who have more than you. Most of those people just happen to be much more intelligent than you.
