Blizzard Won't Let Uwe Boll Direct WoW Movie

World Of WarCraft is not particularly known for its enticing story, but that didn't stop Blizzard from kicking Uwe Boll away when he asked to create yet another videogame movie adaptation based on the popular MMO title.

"We will not sell the movie rights, not to you... especially not to you", was the exact words Paul Sams of Blizzard used as he "laughed Uwe Boll out" of Blizzard's office; at least, according to Boll's own story. Uwe Boll went and revealed the reasoning behind Blizzard's declination: "Because it's such a big online game success, maybe a bad movie would destroy that ongoing income, what the company has with it."

Uwe Boll is the director of several (reads: almost all) bad videogame to movie adaptations through the past few years. The list includes House of the Dead (IMDB score: 2.0), Alone in the Dark (IMDB score: 2.2), BloodRayne (IMDB score: 2.6), BloodRayne II: Deliverance (IMDB score: 2.5), In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale (IMDB score: 3.8), and Postal (IMDB score: 4.3). He has announced plans to produce an adaptation of Far Cry. Boll intends to produce Alone in the Dark II, as well as a third movie based on the BloodRayne franchise.
