BioWare: No More Shepard For Mass Effect

Mass Effect design team still has no idea what will happen in Mass Effect 4, but they know one thing for sure: Shepard won’t be present anywhere near it.

“There is one thing we are absolutely sure of - there will be no more Shepard, and the trilogy is over,” BioWare Montreal's Fabrice Condominas confirmed.

“This is really our starting point. Now the Mass Effect universe is vast, and very, very rich. So at this point in time, we don't even know what kind of time frame we're going to be in. All we're doing is more gathering ideas from the teams.”

“So first, we don't want to make 'Shepard 2′, or Mass Effect 4 with like, 'oh there's no more Shepard but you're a soldier in the universe'. So this will be a very, very different context for sure, and nothing has been decided on the rest.”

You are unfair, guys....

ME3 was no shit, it was in fact a great game, with a deep main questline and interesting sidequests. The amount of freedom and personalization in it was huge, with real effects due from your choices. Only, its ending sucked really bad and the extended cut itself just polished what was trash in the 1st place. Still, i am not surprised they wont use Shepard anymore... his story is over. Nothing they could make him do could challenge in scope the fight with the reaper. I wonder tough what kind of success they expect after the ending debacle....

Without Shepard there is no Mass Effect :S THey should give it another Name.. but Mass Effect was and is build for Shepard and nothing else... who want they to put in? Soap? Price? or any other Military Names!? ...

bioware is shit,their disregard of fans feeling really make me sick. it is the worst type of attitude that came from game manufacturer. Me3 sucks enough, now they want to make me4? the only way enraged fans can get back to bioware for their lack of common sense , is to torrent and share copies of the game. this is so to make the sale drop, serve them right! is not a matter of piracy, its a matter of getting back at them for betraying the fans. played Me1, me2 and then me3 for years, to be then disappointed, those are years of wasted time now, bioware needs to pay for their mistake!

The real way to get back at them is to not buy the game, not play the game, not follow news about the game and ignore all sorts of videos and screenshots. after the massive cluster fuck of ME3 and there blatent refusal to even fix it there now ignoring the franchise lead charactor is in short....suicide. its comman knowlage that EA are renaming bioware EA north or some crap like that, the mass effect series IS shepard, no shepard = no mass effect. look at the new gears of war spinoff game, lowset EVER pre-orders for a gears game. gears without marcus is a fail, mass effect without shepard is not mass effect, also the damage done by the now ex-ceo's has almost destroyed biowares reputation...oh wait sorry dragon age 2 and dragon age 3.yup bioware are fucked

Shepard is dead. He's not coming back. That can't be helped. Bioware has had no reputation since Dragon Age 2. They betrayed themselves and us with that game and going forward from it. I knew ME 3 was going to be shit because ME 2 was half the game the first one was. Anyone surprised by that was an idiot. As far as any future ME game goes? It's going to be garbage. There was barely any RPG in the last title as it was, I imagine the next one will be a full on First or Third person shooter.
