Sierra Studios™ and Gearbox Software today announced development of Valve's Half-Life for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system. The game will bring award-winning, adrenaline-pumping action to the next-generation console in 2001, complete with exciting new cooperative, deathmatch and multiplayer modes. Half-Life for PlayStation 2 is in development by Gearbox Software, developers of the award-winning Half-Life PC expansion, Half-Life: Opposing Force. Half-Life PlayStation 2 will ship in the second quarter of 2001.

Half-Life PlayStation 2 is an all-new experience for console gamers featuring a complete next-generation upgrade of the original ground-breaking game as well as entirely new multiplayer cooperative and competitive bonus games set within the Half-Life universe. All new advanced technology, enhanced characters and weapons, upgraded environments and never before seen levels define Half-Life for PlayStation 2 as the most advanced and impressive Half-Life ever made. The worldwide exclusive on this game will be featured in the January issue of GamePro magazine (U.S.).
