More Xbox 360-Related Overheating Trouble

Just as the commotion over Xbox 360 overheating and RROD faded away, Microsoft was forced to fix overheating Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheels.

According to Microsoft, this is just a "precautionary measure" to fix a "component in the Wheel chassis [which] may in rare cases overheat and release smoke when the AC-DC power supply is used to energize the Wheel".

If you have an Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel manufactured during 2006 - 2007, you should visit www.xbox.com/support or call 0800-587-1102 to get a free adaptor replacement.

Microsoft points out that there have been no reported incidences of "fire, personal injury or property damage due to the Wheel malfunction"; however, they advise customers to stop using the AC-DC power supply until they have obtained their retrofit. Owners may continue to operate the Wheel using battery power, but force feedback will not be available while running on battery power.
