Most of our readers would remember how that they cut Playstation 3 price by $100 before an exec's tongue slip forced them to confess it was just a stock depletion sale.
Back then, Sony officially stated that they "have ample inventory to meet the immediate needs of consumers in this [North American] territory for several months to come", but just six weeks later and that stock has been completely depleted.
"We no longer have any inventory in SCEA warehouses. All inventory has been purchased and shipped to retailers", said SCEA communications officer Dave Karraker. "We don't have visibility as to if that is on their store shelves or in their warehouses at this time. However, based on inventory reports from our retailers, there is ample supply still left in the channel."
