The organizers of E3 2006 have decided to ban the online dating game, Naughty America: The Game claiming it contains adult content. As a result the soon-to-be-released MMO will not be allowed to participate in the gaming industry's largest tradeshow.
We were very disappointed to learn of E3's stance toward Naughty America: The Game, stated Noah Dudley, President of Eight Legs, Inc., the corporate entity overseeing the design and development of the title. It's the next step in social networking and online matchmaking. It's certainly not intended for everyone, but then again neither are a number of the titles featured at the show.
This latter remark seems to be the most relevant as E3 will showcase plenty of mature content and we are fairly certain that the developers of Naughty America would probably have the good taste to have clothed, if scantily so, booth assistants. It would seem a pretty straight-forward arrangement to have the game demonstrated in an enclosed area and impose some form of age verification so we are not certain why E3 organisers have decided on such a final course of action. Heck, half the games at E3 will probably include some kind of art file that can be accessed to show adult content
Naughty America: The Game is a new twist on the world of online dating, combining in-game chat functionality with real-world profiles and mini-games and exploration features. However, this massively multiplayer online world separates itself from the competition by allowing players to do what they've always wanted to… be naughty. But, fear not, for The Game incorporates Sentry's background verification services, allowing for a much safer gaming experience than ever before possible.
