It is no secret that PlayStation 4 has consistently outsold Xbox One by a two to one margin, but now it looks like the tides have finally turned in Microsoft's favor.
Microsoft is still not sharing its Xbox One sales figures, but the company is now boasting that it has been outselling PS4 in USA for the past 4 months and in the UK and Australia for the past 2 months.
"Thanks to the passion of Xbox fans worldwide and their continued excitement for Xbox One S, Xbox One was once again the best-selling console in October in the U.S., U.K. and Australia according to NPD Group and GfK Entertainment. Xbox One has been the best-selling console in the U.S. for the past four months, and in the U.K. and Australia in each of the last two months."
This turn of fortune is likely the result of Microsoft's aggressive marketing efforts including the release of the slimmer Xbox One S, the release of several lucrative promotional bundles and offering Xbox One at a highly discounted price. However, it is only going to get tougher from now on as Sony has just released its more powerful PS4 pro which will remain uncontested till Microsoft releases its Xbox One Scorpio in Holiday 2017.
