Look, alot of excellent companies like Square Soft and Konami and others have signed up with Microsoft Xbox.Plus with such power the programmers can do anything because they have no such limitations like the lack of memory and power in the consoles like DC and PSX 2. So I hope it will be a good thing, if not I'll stick with my Dreamcast and my PC.

I've been an avid console AND PC gamer for 20 years. Both Microsoft and Sony have made leaps and bounds in both markets. But let's face it; Sony knows what console gamers want and Microsoft doesn't. Look at how Microsoft is failing in the handheld PDA market to Palm; it's much the same. PDA user's don't want the hassles that are inherent in Microsoft products, and neither do console gamers.

Microsoft seems to be trying hard to make a successful console, but with Playstation 2 and the upcoming Gamecube the competition will be very high. PC Games are better off on the computer than in a console. For those who do not have a compatible computer for some games, X-Box may help them out. Then again I hear more things about Nintendo and Sony than I do with Microsoft. My opinion is, Microsoft can try to be successful, but if they started on a PC they should stay with a PC.

sorry, guys. microsoft does well at just about everything, and they make some kickass games to boot. i think the x-box will be succesful, and will most likely surpass the nintendo and PS2 game consoles. or at least give them a run for their money.

Im not gonna bother with a playstation2 or the xbox, might aswell just upgrade my PC. By the time xbox comes out there will probably be a Playstation 2 emulator anyway!! Balls to em all!

Microsoft is gonna tank on Xbox! Takes them so many versions to get anything right - look at Windoze (3.0, 3.1, 95, 98, 2000 ...) Maybe Xbox 2004 will be something to watch for

If you want to get a consle it would be the GameCube probebly. it has original games and i dont think it will be easly emmulated.actualy this memory surpasses most of the competition. it apears that most of them are having their memory figures combined (main memory and video memory in the same figure).Also Microsoft will have a better system the Sony. the only question is will it be for X-Box only or will they be ported between the PC and the X-Box.we may come to think the X-Box as the cheap person's PC (which is what all Video Consles are).

Its not just MS that is developing this console.

I only hope that the XBOX will not be to hard to "chip" other wise it will not take off like the psx did !!!

Idiot, you can't compare xbox to windows. the xbox is going to kick PS2's ***. it's specs are 2x better on most pn the PS2 and as for the CUBE! just stick to the gameboy and pokemon- nintendo.

I reckon most people with a PC wont buy the X-Box, the only way they will sell if they have great games that are xbox only and cant be used on a pc.
