Wolfenstein New Order Announced, Screenshotted

If you think of classic FPS action and you're older than 20, chances are you remember Wolfenstein 3D, a Doom like corridor shooter that had you slaying Nazis instead of demons, and frantically hitting the action key along every piece of wall in-case it moved back to reveal a secret room. Now though we've got a new game. A reimagining of the Wolfenstein series in the future, called Wolfenstein: New Order and it looks Nazi-rific.

Developed by MachineGames and published by Bethesda, the game will debut on all current gen systems (other than the Wii U and Wii, sorry Nintendo) along with the PC and all future gen consoles, like the PS4 and Xbox.

There's a trailer (below) that sounds like it's voiced by Michael Madsen after ten packs of Marlboros and it shows some sort of mechanised robot army being created in a factory, eventually culminating in the protagonist (presumably William Joseph "B.J." Blazkowicz) facing off again them, holding a pistol and shotgun while Britain's beloved parliament buildings and Big Ben sit draped in Nazi iconography.

The screenshots are pretty generic looking and don't particularly stand out as anything exceptional, but there's some cool looking weaponry at least. Apparently the player will be charged with taking on the Nazis across Europe, infiltrating their bases and killing as many as he can.

What's the bet that the final boss is a roboticised Hitler again?

As much as a fan as I was of Wolfenstein 3D back in the day (especially the version that put low-res porn all over the walls) I'm not that stoked for this. Duke Nuke'm Forever really soured me on the idea.
