New Blizzard Beta At BlizzcCon

New Blizzard Beta At BlizzcCon

Blizzard has announced some of the goodies it will have in hand to greet BlizzCon attendees come August 3 in Anaheim. Among them, a beta key for ...an upcoming Blizzard game.

The promise of a beta key to a new Blizzard title has gamers wondering what game that may be. The only, officially, Blizzard game in development is Starcraft 2 and though it may be a likely candidate, Blizzard fans are hoping this is an indirect way for Blizzard to announce Diablo 3. The Blizzard statement does mention an upcoming Blizzard game suggesting that a new expansion for WoW is not a likely candidate. Semantics aside, it is strange to suggest that Blizzard will have moved so far in development as to have a beta version of an unannounced game ready by August 2007. It is possible however, that the keys handed out at BlizzCon may be valid for a future date.

This little exercise, above, in futile speculation should serve as a warning that you are likely to hear all sorts of possibilities for that beta test; until then you should rest assured in the knowledge that attendance of BlizzCon 2007 will, additionally, guarantee you an in-game Murloc suit which will allow your favorite WoW character to blend in with the Murlocs.
