Publisher Call Afro Samurai 2 A Failure. Pulls It Off Steam And PSN
Afro Samurai 2 publisher Versus Evil has pulled the game off Steam and PlayStation Network after chalking it up as a failure.
The game was pulled off the two stores silently more than a week ago. CG Magazine was finally able to contact Versus Evil General Manager Steve Escalante, and his response was surprisingly and pleasantly candid.
âThe game was a failure. We could not do, in good conscience, volume 2 and volume 3,â he admitted lightly. âSo weâve begun the process, itâs been a long process to figure it out because Sony has never really had to do this in this way, but weâre returning all the money. So across the board weâre putting out an apology saying âsorry about this.'â
Escalante noted that âIf you look at the reviews, it wasnât that the game was broken or buggy, people just didnât like it.â
We have to admit that we are impressed by Versus Evilâs decision to take Afro Samurai 2 as a loss instead of simply canceling volume 2 and 3 and moving on to another project.
