I like the vidio gives you a good idea of what the game is going to be like.You will need realy good system requarmemts. I had a 1.0 ghz with a 8500pro and it was realy jurks, when i played the alph.I will definitly bu this game, anyone else that is with me then put Yes as the first word in there post.I still cant wait untill they relles the engin to other companys so we can see thos graphics in war games, rasing, Real time stratigys.That is my opinion.the_MAN signing off, for now.

that alien in the picture that looks like a spider looks very close to the alien in John Carpenters The Thing which came out somewhere in the 1980's. Dam, alot of gaming companies are starting to copy other peoples work.Also, there is a alien in Half-Life 2 that looks like the aliens from StarShip Troopers.I'm starting to think these gaming companies cant make up there things but yet copy from hollywood movies.

This is the new game which I prefer to buy it.The grafic is really awesome just like real!I'm also get scared,panic AND shout just in front of screen(when I'm in ambush!).*Scared makes me let my younger brother play that game.(He IS brave in his age,if I stay(bodyguard) with him.....*#)AND its better than Half Life!*I'm his teacher......

Im ganna buy Half-life 2, i was impressed with there first one and ill be impressed again. I cant stand this DOOM 3 ****, i cant see anything, its to dark. I wasnt impressed with doom1 or doom2, and i dont think ill be impressed with doom3.

To SSCREW: DooM³ and Half Life 2 will have the exact same multiplayer abilities. Both will have a very simple deathmatch. Nothing fancy at all. Both are equally as moddable. Both will have loads of mods. Half Life 2 will probably have more mods since mod developers from HL1 will switch. But there's gonna be alot of DooM³ modders too.And btw, DooM³ is suposed to be dark, thats the idea. it creates an evil atmosphere that is supposed to scare you. Standing in a dark corridor, barely able to see, and all you can hear is breathing and the sound of tapping. gonna be cool

Doom 3 will NOT have multiplayer, its already been stated. It might have a multiplayer expansion, but that'll just cost more.Half Life 2 will **** all over Doom3, better gameplay, better AI and better graphics.Ive got a 600mb HL2 trailer, and it ****** over Doom 3nuff sed

Morons... If you actually ttok the time to read any previews of Doom III you would realize that it will indeed had multiplayer. Alas, very basic multiplayer, but that's all we need. Realism games have put too much light on huge player numbers working together, f**k THAT. I want to be a loner, blowing people away, and that's what Doom III's multiplayer will deliver (Hell, even the leaker alpha had multiplayer, it just didn't work worth ****).

It's not that one is better than the other it's just that Doom3 will deliver crazy *** Sci-fi cool **** with demons and HL2 will deliver earthy realism with big alien bugs. I'm going to be playing them both anyway.

Sorry to post a 2nd time straight away but I wanted to mention the big argument about Quake1 vs Duke3D and we know how that ended. While both Doom3 and HL2 are very high on the graphics technoligy candy etc I think because HL2 is actually a id software engine you should know that HL3 will be using a modified Doom3 engine because Doom3 is designed to take SUPER high detailed models/texturea and display them fast and efficiently on your videocard which makes it endlessly more powerful as an engine for many more games to come.

I'm not really that excited about Half-Life 2... I mean, I'm sure it'll be a great game, and I'm sure I'll enjoy it, but it just doesn't excite me that much. Doom III on the other hand does a better job, especially after getting a taste of the alpha. The forst coming first person shooting that I'm looking forward to the most is Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodline though. I've always been a big fan of the White Wolf franchise, and I enjoyed Redemtpion greatly (even if no one else did). =)

seriously, some people here... "Doom 1 and Doom 2 sucked"?!?! Man, all these new computer users, never had a system that could barely play a game with graphics, let alone 3d. Id pretty well invented 3D and have made sure to keep it top of the line. They push it... When the first two Doom games(and others of the time) came out, systems were barely able to run them...Nowdays I can run most games fine on a $500 system that I can get from anywhere, 2GHz and a good ATI or NVidia card and games don't even push it...Ah well, enjoy...

HL2 is okay but Doom3 will rule computer gaming with an iron fist

i think in comparison to counterstrike the doom 3 graphics are not so good. counterstrike has much better gameplay and sound effects and it runs on slower machines.

check out the screenshot where the bald scientist look over his shoulder. look at his shadow. it is overlapped by the computer panel texture. man this is soo cheap, my granny could do it better.

I don't understand why so many people are arguing about weather or not Doom 3 will be better than HL2. I mean, if you like the demo, buy the game, end of story. Who really gives a **** which game is better, as long as you enjoy playing it.So stop waving your d**ks at each other cause let’s be honest, you have nothing to gain even if one game does greatly out shine the other. Unless of course your actually one of the games developers, but we all know that’s about as likely as John Carmack himself posting his comments here.

Oh and let's not forget, the currently leaked alpha is just that, alpha software. Also know as a buggy-piece-of-crap. This version can't tell you squat about how fast the final retail version will run on your system. Even when the retail version is released, it's likely to receive a lot of patches over time that will improve performance, so too will video card vendors release new drivers with optimisations for the DOOM III Engine.As for the visual quality, well, I'd suggest you ignore any screenshots from the alpha version. Who knows what hardware was running it and what changes will be made to the code that will affect the visual quality by the time the game is released.There's a reason it's called a "leaked alpha", i.e. it wasn't meant for public viewing yet. Hell, even Carmack said that the pre-release benchmarking version they let AnandTech use to benchmark the NV35 isn't polished to its full potential yet which is why they couldn't provide screenshots from that version.So keep ya caps on ladies and gents, this puppy is just getting warmed up. You'd be wise to save your condemning comments till ID actually release a playable demo.

Obviously a number of changes will be made, but the state this old release (alpha) is in makes a huge difference, and plays a big role, as to how the overall production is going, and what to expect from the final product, on a more general basis.

You people are stupid. I have seen no good reasons why HL2 is better... "Doom 3 will have no multi" umm... it will. your stupid if you think it wont. HL2 is modable, and Doom3 isnt. Umm... didnt ID make quake... quake2 and Quake3? They are "THE GAME" you want to mod! So yeah. As someone else stated... didnt they say it's useing a old ID engine? that means it's inferrior in every way almost... so... graphically, I put my bets on Doom3, no doubt. Gameplay... The alpha version was ment for veiwers at E3. ITs was less than a demo if u go in to the menu it can even move the background if u click some of the buttons at the right time..U really cant even judge HL2 and Doom3 becuase they are completely different games.Doom3 = u play and **** your pants because of the sweeet *** enviroment etc.. and graphics are like BANG in your face fuken awsomeHL2 = Hmmm very nice, good physics etc..My score board says Doom 3 is winning from what i have read in pcpp and atomic magz and HL2 is just a HL 1 with better graphics

yo ppl whats up? i got the doom 3 alpha leak demo but it runs slow on my system(i only get 1 fps during gameplay)...i got P4 2.66 Ghz 512 ram 64 MB video card..Anyone got any suggestions on how i can make the game go faster
