Enter this during the start-up menu the first menu which presents itself- left, right, left, right, up, down, up, down, square, circle, square, circle, select, start- the square/ circle replaces the A/B buttons from the original NES Contra- the positioning of the button sequence is exactly the same as the NES controller- for those familiar with the original 99 lives code, you will not even have to look at the controller- unfortunately, the max lives shown on the screen after this code is only 8- when you run out of lives you must still continue at either the beginning or middle of the level you are playing depending on whether or not the midpoint has been passed.
